Lina Bo Bardi’s reputation as an architect is acknowledged all over the world. Some of her best known and most striking buildings in Brazil are the Museu de Arte São Paolo, Casa de Vidro and SESC Pompeia. But Bo Bardi was so much more than just an architect. The importance of her works extends beyond just their physical form.
The exhibition Another Reality. After Lina Bo Bardi presented the versatility of Lina Bo Bardi through the work of six contemporary artists, through drawings, photographs, films, books and by means of events exploring her ideas about presenting, education, history, play, design, architecture, popular culture and everyday reality.
Studio Manuel Raeder designed all the graphic art work for the exhibition, including a poster, four different postcards, invitations, booklets and various other material for visual communication.
Manuel Raeder also gave a talk about Lina Bo Bardi’s love for the body in space – activating architecture – and about her spirit in relation to Hélio Oiticica, Tropicalia and Rogério Duarte. Together with Mariana Castillo Deball he has developed a series of playful sitting objects based on the work of Lina Bo Bardi.
