Visual identity for UKS
UKS (Unge Kunstneres Samfund / Young Artists’ Society) is an Oslo-based institution for contemporary art. Founded by artists for artists in 1921, it has since established itself as one of Norway’s principal experimental venues for the arts with the objective of having both an artistic and political impact within and beyond its region.
In 2017 Studio Manuel Raeder did a full redesign of UKS visual identity, including a corporate typeface and a new website. Drawing inspiration from the rich UKS history, the core visual elements – the playful arrangement of the letters and the hand-drawn branch logo – were reinterpreted and presented in constantly changing compositions applied throughout both printed and digital material.
